Bully (2012)
I just watched this trailer and it made me tear up. I can remember so many specific points in my adolescent and adult life where I’ve been bullied. Films, especially documentaries, involving children getting hurt hits home pretty hard. I can remember so many times in middle school and high school, standing up for other kids getting bullied. That isn’t something that should be applauded because it’s out of the ordinary, it’s something that should happen regularly and should be normal and second nature.
I used to be more outgoing. I used to seek out people who sat by themselves at school or who I’d notice weren’t hanging out with that many people…and I’d go talk to them. A lot of them are people that I am very close friends with to this day. I wish I was more proactive about befriending people who need someone who listens (not just tries to solve all their problems) and not be so afraid of everyone and everything just because I’ve been assaulted before…I’m working on it.

Remember yesterday when “DoYaThing,” the Converse-sponsored music collaboration between Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and André 3000 turned out to be just a part of a much larger cut and that it would see the light of day at a later date?
